I hadn’t been to J. Alexander’s in years, and I’m happy to say it did not disappoint. From the moment we walked in, the experience was seamless. The hosts were polite, polished, and perfectly put together, welcoming us with a warm greeting and seating us promptly. Our server matched that same level of professionalism, presenting the daily specials and offering drinks and starters with ease and confidence.

We ordered the Barbecue Baby Back Ribs and the Thai Kai Salad, and both were absolutely phenomenal. So good that we couldn’t stop talking about them the entire meal. The ribs were tender and flavorful, and the Thai Kai Salad was fresh, vibrant, and full of flavor.

Top-notch service, excellent food, and a well-run atmosphere, this visit reminded me why J. Alexander’s is such a gem in Overland Park. I won’t be waiting so long to come back next time!

My husband and I met two other couples for dinner at Vintage 78 Wine Bar and had a blast. Chad was our fabulous waiter, and he guided us through appetizers, the main course, and desserts. All, of course, paired with the very best wine - hence a wine bar. Put Vintage 78 Wine Bar on your bucket list and be sure to ask for Chad! All six of us ordered something different, but we began with Assorted Olives, Steak Tartare, and Spanish Cocktail Mix. Between all of us, we tried/shared the following entrees: Hanger Steak; Rabbit Risotto; Morel Tagliatelle; Pesto Pappardelle; Bay of Pigs, and the Mushroom Toast. All very delicious! McLain's Market in Overland Park is the perfect spot for a quick bite or a casual coffee date. During my most recent visit on Valentine’s Day, I was in need of last-minute treats and a sandwich to go—and it turned out to be a total home run. The treats I picked up were absolute winners. The Chocolate Lovers Box, featuring combination of flourless chocolate truffles & peanut butter bites made with gluten-friendly ingredients, both are rich and indulgent and balanced in flavor. They’re the kind of treats that make you want to savor every bite! For my savory craving, I went with the popular chicken salad sandwich. The sandwich was as satisfying as it was delicious, and it came with a side of house-made chips, crispy and light, making for a perfect snack to go with the meal.

What really sets McLain’s apart is the fantastic service. The staff is friendly and helpful, and everything was served up quickly. Whether you’re in the mood for a meal, a quick snack, or just a coffee to relax with, McLain’s in Overland Park is a great choice. We couldn't resist coming back to Q39 Overland Park for a second round of amazing food, and we're so glad we did! From quick seating to even quicker service, this place gets it right from the start. The staff is incredibly friendly, making you feel welcome the moment you walk in. On our first visit, we kicked things off with an appetizer of the Q39 Spiced Onion Straws BBQ aioli before diving into the star of the show: a 3-meat platter featuring ribs, brisket, and sausage. The portion was just perfect for sharing, enough to leave us completely satisfied without feeling overly full. The flavors were incredible, with each meat cooked to perfection.

Returning the very next week, we wanted to try something new, and both of us were blown away. My husband opted for the Pork Belly Tacos, which were bursting with flavor and had the perfect balance of crispy and tender. I went with the Wood-Fired Grilled Salmon Salad, and let me tell you, it was a 10/10! The salmon was perfectly grilled and the salad was a wonderful mix of Bibb lettuce, cranberries, toasted almonds, pickled onions, and a delicious balsamic herb vinaigrette. It was the kind of dish that left me wanting more (but feeling great afterwards). To cap off our meal, we shared the Sticky Toffee Cake with ice cream, and it was the ideal sweet finish. The cake was perfectly moist, and the ice cream was the perfect complement.

All in all, Q39 Overland Park delivers an exceptional dining experience with both fantastic food and top-notch service. We’ll definitely be back again soon!

The Olive Garden on 95th and Metcalf in the old Metcalf South mall was remodeled a few years ago. It is now a really nice and spacious updated restaurant. The food was good and the service was quite nice. Hadn't visited that location in years, but will gladly make the trek back soon.

Bring the kids out this Saturday, May 10th, to the Indian Heights United Methodist Church for their annual Petting Zoo. Thorni Ridge Exotics will feature a plethora of novel animals. KC Wolf will also be making an appearance! There will be snacks, games, music, and more. So come out this Saturday from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. for free family fun.

This beautiful 70's theme coffee shop was filled with so much energy and creativity. They offer treats from rainbow bagels, cookies, and blueberry muffins. My business partner and I came out here to work for the afternoon, and we were not disappointed. We went with a Jasmine Tea that had just the right amount of caffeine to hold us over.

The design of posters, old records, disco balls, and peace signs was enlightening while knocking some work out. We met the owners, a beautiful mother/daughter duo that was in high spirits of Jinkies! Perfectly tucked away in a strip mall with comfortable parking and down from the intersection- groovy!!

Come out and enjoy a summer weekend in Downtown Overland Park at the second annual Overland Park Art Fair on June 23 & 24th. There will be food trucks, live music, children's activities, and 75 juried artists. Vendors and entertainment will extend from Thompson Park down Sante Fe Drive to 79th Street. What could be better than spending the weekend with some fresh air and enjoying the works of some fantastic artists?
