The Great Lenexa BBQ Battle was held Friday, June 23rd from 4:30-11:00 p.m. and Saturday, June 24th from 9:00 am - 3:00 pm. The BBQ Battle has grown considerably over the years! Contestants from all over the country come to this two day event to compete for the title of Grand Champion. Prizes are awarded for several categories, including brisket, pork, ribs and chicken. Also available are activities for children and live music for all to enjoy.This event at Sar-Ko-Par Trails Park at 87th Street Parkway and Lackman Road. Admission was $5 on Friday and free on Saturday. Children 12 years of age and under had free admission on both days. On-site parking is limited, but free satellite parking and a shuttle bus was available. Mark your calendar for next year's event!
