On Thursday, October 31, from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m., Liberty’s historic downtown square transforms into a Halloween wonderland. From Oct. 17th to Oct. 31st, you can hunt for 12 ghosts hiding along the trail at the Westboro/Canterbury Park. The trail is a 0.7-mile loop between the pickleball courts on Withers Road and the parking lot on Park Lane. Activity sheets are available at the Liberty Community Center. This is a self-guided activity, so turn your sheet in after completion and receive a Halloween treat! Prizes available for the first 300 participants. One sheet per person.

Another reason to get out into nature and enjoy the fall weather!

Fall means family and fun, so pack up the gang and come take a stroll through the Fairy Tale Forest at Martha Lafite Thompson Nature Sanctuary, Oct. 16 - 19 from 6:00 - 8:30 p.m. This is a non-scary Halloween event. Wear a costume and dress for the weather. You'll pass by 100 Jack-o-lanterns carved by local residents. Tickets are $10 per person; children 2 and under are free. This is a fundraising event to support the educational programming at the Sanctuary.

Join the men and women in Blue for a relaxing afternoon of community and connection at Lemonality, located in historic downtown Liberty. Get to know those who serve and protect us in a casual, friendly setting. Whether you have questions or feedback, come enjoy a glass of lemonade. Lemonality is located at 10 W. Kansas St., Liberty. This event will be held from 3:30 to 4:30 on Tuesday, Sept. 30th.

Liberty Parks and Rec is offering you a chance to get a free family photo on October 25th from 4:30 to 6:00 p.m. at Stocksdale Park. LPR will have a photo backdrop and a staff member on-site to capture that photo you've never gotten around to taking. Your photo will be available for download online afterward. Photos are first-come, first-served with a limit of 10 minutes per group.
You'll have a beautiful outdoor setting, and you can't beat the price!

The Liberty Fall Festival is a long-standing tradition that brings the community together every autumn. On October 2nd, the witches and goblins will be roaming the Historic Liberty Square for this fun-filled evening. There will be wine samples, snack stops, and festive shopping. It's a great night to sip, stroll, and celebrate the Halloween season.

Tickets include: sampling glass, wristband, map, and snack stops.
VIP Tickets - $50 include early check-in, exclusive pours, a charcuterie box, and some swag.
DD VIP - $15 includes charcuterie and swag.

Calling all ghost enthusiasts! The paranormal investigations of the Odd Fellows Compound are back, so get your tickets now before it's too late. The investigation will be a 4-hour-long tour of various sites around the Odd Fellows Compound at Belvoir Winery. You'll be paired with a small group of investigators, along with a PRI (Paranormal Research Investigator), who will guide you around the property. This fun and exciting evening will take place on Friday, October 17th, starting at 8:30 p.m.

Summer is on its way out, and Liberty Parks and Rec is saying goodbye with a party at the City Park Sprayground on Aug. 16th. From 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m., the kids can enjoy Free Kona Ice, temporary glitter tattoos, and an amazing bubble party. Don't forget your sunscreen and towels!

Liberty Parks and Rec is having its annual golf tournament to raise funds for its Foundation Scholarship Fund. This fund ensures that no one is turned away from a Parks and Rec activity due to an inability to pay. This event will be held at Paradise Pointe Golf Course in Smithville.

The tournament is on August 15, and the Shotgun Start is at 8:00 a.m. Teams receive free range balls before the event, 18 holes of golf, with a cart, lunch, and a goodie bag for each player. Prizes will be awarded for: Golf Ball Launcher, Hole in One and 4 Ring Hole in One, Longest Putt, Longest Drive, and Closest to the Pin. One Mulligan per player. There will be a Silent Auction and a 50/50 raffle also. Register your team of 4 by August 1, 2025 ($480), and save $100.

What is Flamingle Night, you say? It's happening on the first Thursday in August, the 7th. Time is 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on and around the Historic Liberty Square. With your admission ticket ($40, $30 in advance), you'll receive a souvenir tasting glass, 20+ tropical drink samples, tasty snack stops, an event map, and tasting notes. You will be entered into a gift card giveaway at each stop. Only drinkers need tickets; non-drinkers are free. Check-in at 11 N. Gallatin and the fun begins!

Bring the whole family and visit with the Liberty Police Department and the Clay County Sheriff's Office on National Night Out, August 5th. Time is 6:30 p.m. - 8:30 p.m. in the Liberty City Hall parking lot.

There will be lots of free activities including: Ident-A-Kid, inflatables, a bubble party, a petting zoo, and Kona Ice. Let the kids explore the patrol cars and fire engines. Liberty Animal Control will also be there with pets you can adopt!

National Night Out is held annually to promote police/community partnerships, which make our City a safer place to live. And it's all free! Except for the pets, there is a small adoption fee.

Santa Claus is coming to town for Christmas in July at the Liberty Farmer's Market! This event will be Saturday, July 19th, 8 am to noon. Yes, Santa will indeed be stopping by the market on his way home from his summer vacation to spread early holiday cheer. He will stop by to hear early Christmas wishes and to share how toy production is going at the North Pole. Everyone is more than welcome to take their own pictures with Santa while out and about enjoying this historic market.
