My friend and I had lunch there yesterday, and we were very impressed. The service was fabulous (we met the owner, Troy), our salads were delish with homemade Ranch dressing, and the atmosphere was very welcoming. If you are participating in Parville's annual Independence Day Parade, line up is at 9:00 a.m. winding through businesses on the southwest corner of 9 and 45 HWY. The parade begins at 10:00 a.m. at 63rd Street & Hwy 9 and ends in Historic Downtown Parkville, a mile and a half route. Bring chairs and blankets to set up early. The highway will be shut down several minutes prior to the start of the parade. Plan to visit downtown for the festive activities in Parkville after the Parade.

English Landing Park was once comprised of low-water areas along the Missouri River, but today it stands as a testament to the transformation of the landscape. In 1838, Colonel George S. Park, a Texas War of Independence veteran, purchased the land from the English Brothers. He acquired a riverboat landing along with the parkland, later becoming a notorious port of call for the slave trade during the Civil War. Despite the city of Parkville not being a Civil War battlefield, the area witnessed tragic events as enslaved individuals sought freedom by crossing the river into Kansas. Unmarked cemeteries in the present-day Misty Woods subdivision serve as a solemn reminder of this dark chapter in history.

Parkville Cruise Nights are back for 2023. The events will be held on the first Saturday of May, June, September, and October from 4:00-8:00 p.m. in downtown Parkville, MO. Showcase or find your dream car at one of KC's most popular Cruise Night events. Hang out with friends at the classic car show, listen to music, and check out all the cars, while also exploring downtown Parkville. There will be a DJ plus a 50/50 raffle. Celebrate the history as well as the future of Parkville from August 19th through August 21st for their annual celebration. This is a family-friendly festival along the Missouri River at English Landing Park. Here you will find carnival favorites, crafts, live music, end-of-summer sales, and more.

The Parkville Microbrew Festival is one of KC's largest beer festivals with live music, handcrafted ales, and great food. The festival is located in Historic Downtown Parkville, MO. Festival admission includes a commemorative logo tasting glass, live music, and all the beer you care to sample on April 30th from 1:00-5:00 p.m.

I was looking for a thank you gift for my friend and decided to try White Farmhouse in downtown Parkville. Wow, I'm so happy I did. They have so many fun items from baby gifts, to local shirts, candles, and my favorites, funny napkins, and dish towels. I spent lots of time looking and giggling and trying to decide on the perfect treat as a thank you. Not only does White Farmhouse have gifts, but it also has delicious chocolates and beautiful flower arrangements. Next time you are in Parkville, make plans to pop by White Farmhouse and look around! Some of my favorites that I've tried have been Dill Pickle, Jalapeno Cheddar, Birthday Cake, and Caramel Pecan - yum. If ice cream is your thing, you must try Captain's Chocolate or Superman!!! If you love coffee, donuts and support locally owned businesses, you must check out Incahoots located in downtown Parkville on the English Landing. Super staff, cool atmosphere, and awesome handmade donuts every day ~ what could be better than that? Go early so you will not miss the delish yumminess!!! Enjoy!!!

Downtown Parkville is a charming shopping destination with fun for the whole family and Incahoots is no exception. I stopped in this morning for my first cup of coffee and I was pleasantly surprised by the custom roasted beans and flavor. The storefront is unique, being in an old train car, and very soon they'll be opening their bar area for evening adult beverages also! Give it a try.

Parkville is one of my all-time favorite places to be, especially in the summer. It is a cute city with a population of just over 5,500 people. My favorite thing to do there is playing mini-golf at Parkville Mini Golf. You can't miss it as it is located at the top of the stairs, which is the first thing you see when entering Parkville. Before COVID, they would give out free popcorn to people playing on the course. Ice cream and bottled drinks are also available to purchase.

Go back to the bottom of the stairs and you will find a cute little Italian restaurant which has amazing bread and pasta. There is also a really good pizza shop located just across the street as well as multiple boutique and coffee shops. If you love antiques as much as I do, then you are sure to enjoy this place as it also has many antique stores for you to get lost in. One of the antique stores has a little deli in it which has good subs and cream soda!

Parkville is also home to Park University which you can spot from the highway before even entering the city. This beautiful, private, non-profit school was founded in 1875 and the bell still rings. If you don't mind the historic downtown feel, you're sure to love Parkville too!
