Leawood, Kansas is a Kansas City suburb located in southeastern Johnson County and has a population of 31,867. It is served by the award winning Blue Valley School and Shawnee Mission School Districts. All five Blue Valley high schools were named to the Washington Post’s list of America’s most challenging high schools, accounting for half of the Kansas schools making the list. Incorporated in 1948, Leawood quickly became known for its lovely residential neighborhoods, excellent schools, and beautiful parks and still known for those qualities today. Over the past several years, the city has added many retail and office developments, including Park Place and Town Center.
Leawood has a new ice cream shop opening in April. Summer Salt Ice Cream Company is open daily, and on top of offering customers homemade ice cream, the location offers vegan and dairy-free options as well. They have the main store in Prairie Village, and this Leawood location will be a walk-up window with outdoor seating. Here you can enjoy the most basic of flavors to the fun more adventurous flavors. Be on the lookout.
