Leawood, Kansas is a Kansas City suburb located in southeastern Johnson County and has a population of 31,867. It is served by the award winning Blue Valley School and Shawnee Mission School Districts. All five Blue Valley high schools were named to the Washington Post’s list of America’s most challenging high schools, accounting for half of the Kansas schools making the list. Incorporated in 1948, Leawood quickly became known for its lovely residential neighborhoods, excellent schools, and beautiful parks and still known for those qualities today. Over the past several years, the city has added many retail and office developments, including Park Place and Town Center.
The Tomahawk Creek Greenway is a six-mile trail that runs through Leawood and connects to other nearby trails. The trail is great for walking, running, biking, and rollerblading, and offers beautiful views of the surrounding area.
