Leawood, Kansas is a Kansas City suburb located in southeastern Johnson County and has a population of 31,867. It is served by the award winning Blue Valley School and Shawnee Mission School Districts. All five Blue Valley high schools were named to the Washington Post’s list of America’s most challenging high schools, accounting for half of the Kansas schools making the list. Incorporated in 1948, Leawood quickly became known for its lovely residential neighborhoods, excellent schools, and beautiful parks and still known for those qualities today. Over the past several years, the city has added many retail and office developments, including Park Place and Town Center.
The Leawood City Park, located at 10601 Lee Blvd, offers a variety of recreational activities for visitors. The park features several sports fields, including baseball, softball, and soccer fields, as well as several playgrounds and picnic areas. In addition, the park offers several hiking and biking trails, as well as a fishing pond.
