Fall is the time when lots of folks want to get out for a nice drive to take in the changing leaves. Other folks look forward to the fall's bounty: the pumpkins, squash, and apples. Luckily, we live in an area within close proximity to all of this. Just outside of Parkville, west of Highway 435 on N Highway is Alldredge Orchards. They offer more than 20 varieties of apples that you can pick every weekend in September and October. There is also a pumpkin patch available this month. The kids will love the chickens and geese, as well as the play structures on site. The general store is open on the weekend and offers candy, apple butters, honey and bagged apples. If you're hungry, there is always a food truck available to fill your belly.
